The gateway to the famed Chahr Chatta (Four Arcades) Bazaar could be found on the left, just beyond the Pul-i-Khishti Mosque between the bridge and Jade Maiwand. Built in the 17th century, this bazaar consisted of four covered arcades linked by open squares centered with fountains. The walls were vibrantly painted with gay floral paintings.
