Euro is the standard currency in Vienna. The Euro came in to use in Central Europe from January 2002. Before that the Austrian Shillings (ATS) was the Austrian currency. At present there are number of foreign currency exchanges in Vienna from where other currencies are converted into Euro but it is easier for people to use the ATMs. The banks and exchanges remain closed on Saturday and Sunday but there are number of terminals in the railway stations and airports that remain opened throughout the week.
