Brazil is officially known as the Federative Republic of Brazil. It is one of the most populous and largest countries in the whole of Latin America and the fifth largest in the world. The official language of Brazil is Portuguese. The old republic was established by a republican military coup headed by Deodoro da Fonseca after deposing Pedro II on 15th November, 1889. Presently, Brazil is known as the Federal Republic. It returned to the civilian rule with the indirect election of Tancredo Neves in 1985.
This federation of Brazil is formed by the association of the States, the Federal Districts, and the Municipalities. The fourth important entity of the Brazilian government is the Union. The Federation has five important fundamental principles- sovereignty, citizenship, dignity of people, social value in regards to labor, freedom of enterprise, and political pluralism. The political power has been divided into three parts- executive, legislative, and Judiciary. All the four political entities independently organize the executive and the legislative whereas the judiciary is organized only at the levels of Federal and State.
