The climate of San Jose is similar to that of Costa Rica. It has basically a tropical climate but there are other distinct climatic zones. There are two seasons here and are known as dry season and the green or the wet season. There is nothing called the winter or the summer season. The dry season starts from December and ends in April. Very little rain takes place during this time and is the best time to visit the place. The wet season starts from May and ends in November. Heavy rainfall takes place during this time. But the Caribbean coast is more humid and the central mountainous region has a temperate climate. Here the temperature depends on the elevation rather than on location. The climate is beautiful during the dry season and you can fully enjoy the city during this time.
