General Climate and the Best Time to Visit the City:
The climate of San Jose is similar to that of Costa Rica. It has basically a tropical climate but there are other distinct climatic zones. There are two seasons here and are known as dry season and the green or the wet season. There is nothing called the winter or the summer season. The dry season starts from December and ends in April. Very little rain takes place during this time and is the best time to visit the place. The wet season starts from May and ends in November. Heavy rainfall takes place during this time. But the Caribbean coast is more humid and the central mountainous region has a temperate climate. Here the temperature depends on the elevation rather than on location. The climate is beautiful during the dry season and you can fully enjoy the city during this time.

The province of San Jose is bordered by the other provinces of Costa Rica and include Alajuela, Heredia, Cartago, Limon, and Puntarenes. It is the capital city of Costa Rica. The province of San Jose has an area of 4,965.3 square kilometers. The province is subdivided into 20 other cantons. The province is well located and is a hot spot for those visiting Costa Rica.
San Jose Delicacies:
Not only San Jose, but the whole of Costa Rica is famous for tasty, mild and fresh fruits and vegetables. The staple food for the people of this country is rice and black beans. This is the food eaten by most of the people three times during the day. Gallo Pinto is another famous dish of the place and is made of black beans. For lunch many people also have the national dish of Costa Rica called casado which is made of fish. They also love to have cheese, corn tortillas and salad. They eat a variety of vegetables which include zucchini, zapallo, chayote, ayote, potato and onion. The fruit that plays an important part in the Costa Rican cuisine is Banana. Different varieties of bananas are found here and are served in various ways. They also love to eat corn soups, and corn pancakes. A large number of drinks are also taken by the people. Their traditional breakfast drinks includes coffee and agua dulce. In the lunch they love to have refreshcos and are generally made from melon, blackberry, strawberry, mango, tamarind etc. This is the traditional lunch drink of the Costa Ricans. Other than this another popular drink is Granizado and is made of ice and colored and flavored syrup. They generally love the cherry flavor. The national drink of the country is Guaro and is made of sugarcane.
Government of San Jose:
The government of San Jose is nothing different from the whole of Costa Rica. The political framework that it follows is presidential representative democratic republic. Here the President is the head of the state as well as the head of the government. There are two vice presidents who assist the president. There are three subdivisions of the government and they are the executive, legislative and the judiciary. The executive powers lie with the government whereas the legislative power is vested in the hands of both government and the legislative assembly. The judiciary on the other hand is independent of both executive and the legislature. As Costa Rica is a republic, the constitution is formed in such a way that it has strong constitutional checks and balances. Though Costa Rica has a two party system,there are a large number of political parties in country. Some of them are Social Christian Unity Party, National Liberation Party, Costa Rican Renovation Party, National Integration Party, Union for Change Party etc.
