    General climate of the city and the best time to visit it:

    The climate of Tbilisi ranges between humid subtropical to mild continental. Tbilisi generally has cold winters and hot summers. The climate of the city is pretty different from all other cities in the country because it has mountain ranges and large water bodies in its surroundings. The annual temperature of the place is around 12.7 degrees. January is the coldest, July is the hottest month whereas May is the wettest month. February to June is the best period to visit Tbilisi as during this time, the climate is not too hot nor too cold.

    Area and Location of Tbilisi

    The area of the capital city of Georgia, Tbilisi is around 372 square kilometers. The city is located on the banks of River Mtkvari and is 41 degrees 43 inches North and 44 degrees and 47 inches East. The city is important not only because it is the capital of the country but also because it is the industrial, social and cultural center of the country. Speaking about the strategic location of the country, Tbilisi is located at a critical point between Asia and Europe. It also lies along the Silk Road routes. As a result of this, Tbilisi has been a center point of dispute among many nations.

    To speak about the cuisine of Tbilisi, we need to talk about the Georgian cuisine. The Georgian cuisine is famous for the variety of the dishes it offers. The Georgian dishes mainly includes variety of meat and fish along with different vegetables and various types of cheese. They also include a variety of appetizers in their daily food. The food that they prepare are also very delicious. Some of the important dishes of Georgia are Khachapuri which is rich is salted cheese, lobio is made of meat and green beans. Boiled chicken with garlic is also one of the important dishes of Georgia. People in Tbilisi as well as in the whole of Georgia, love to use fruits as one of the ingredients while preparing various dishes. They also like to eat Ham, muzuzhi which is basically pig legs dipped in vinegar. Another important traditional dish is sulguni which is cheese cooked in butter. They also have a variety of drinks. There are at least 12 kinds of wine, vodka and champagne.

    Government in Tbilisi:

    The capital city of Georgia, Tbilisi is governed by Tbilisi Assembly and the Tbilisi City Hall. The City Assembly is elected every four years. The City Assembly then elects the Mayor. The Mayor can serve two terms with each term of 4 years. The present Mayor of Tbilisi is Giorgi Ugulava. The city is administratively divided into raions or districts. All these districts have their own central and local government. They also have jurisdiction rights over some of the affairs. Presently the raions of Tbilisi are Vake Saburtalo, Mtatsminda Krtsanisi, Didube Chugureti, Gldani Nadzaladevi, Isani Samgori, and Dzveli Tbilisi. All these have their own government whereas there is a central government in Tbilisi as well. This Central Government takes care about the other affairs which do not fall under the jurisdiction of the local government.
