Soon after this war in 1947, British empire withdrew it's mandate of Palestine on May 14, 1948. This was the time when Jewish National Council declared themselves as the independent State Of Israel.
In the State Of Israel, Parliamentary democracy with universal suffrage exists as the form of government. President is the head of the state and takes all major decisions. He selects the Prime Minister from one of the members of the party who wins by majority votes. The Parliamentary body of Israel consists of 120 members.
